Attractive brambly aromas of rosehip and red fruits against a backdrop of dark chocolate and dried herbs. Medium in body the palate shows juicy red currant and cranberries with savoury notes of tobacco leaf and lovely rustic tannins that bring balance and finish.
Handpicked, chilled parcels of small-berried Sangiovese and Cabernet were destemmed and crushed then cold soaked for 5 days. Fermented separately with indigenous yeast with hand plunging 6-8 times daily, then basket pressed and blended before maturation in French barriques (30% new) on lees for 9 months before filtration and bottling. Matured in bottle for a further 6 months.
